TV-Series
Description
Howlingstar is a red-colored Dragon and serves as the partner of Raina Cromwell, a human Dragonaut. Within the International Solarsystem Development Agency, or ISDA, Howlingstar holds the position of leader among the Communicators, the dragons assigned to the elite Lindworm Unit. His appearance in his human-like form is notably derived from the youthful appearance of Eiji Kamishina, a senior researcher and the father of the series protagonist, Jin Kamishina, whom Raina greatly respects.

In terms of personality, Howlingstar is characterized as highly energetic and enthusiastic, often being the most lively member of his unit. He possesses a straightforward and excitable nature, which has been described as that of a hot-blooded young man. This temperament makes him prone to showing off his combat skills, reflecting a confident and perhaps boastful side to his character. Despite this brash exterior, he is fundamentally loyal and cooperative, functioning as a key member of the ISDA's public-facing operations alongside his partner, Raina.

His primary motivation is tied to his role as a Dragon and a Communicator. He faithfully carries out his duties to the ISDA, initially engaging in missions to capture the dragon Toa, which puts him in direct conflict with Jin and his dragon, Gio. Howlingstar's loyalty is ultimately transferred to his partner, Raina, whom he follows when they defect from the ISDA after the organization falls under the command of a character named Gillard.

Howlingstar shares a central relationship with his Dragonaut, Raina Cromwell. Their bond as partners is strong enough that they choose to leave the ISDA together, and Howlingstar is frequently seen acting on Raina's orders in battle. Within the Lindworm Unit, he works alongside fellow dragons Machina and Amadeus. He also had a friendship with another dragon, Spirytus, and was greatly affected by the latter's death, becoming despondent for a period of time, though he eventually returns to his normal, energetic self.

Throughout the story, Howlingstar undergoes a few notable developments. After the death of Spirytus, he experiences a period of emotional turmoil and disability, showcasing a more vulnerable side beneath his hot-blooded persona. He demonstrates his capacity for recovery, clearing this troubled mode and returning to his original state. Later in the series, one year after the main events, Howlingstar is captured by the ISDA and is nearly subjected to biological experiments but is ultimately rescued. Following his rescue, he contributes significantly to a major battle, helping to defeat dozens of dragons sent by the entity Thanatos.

Howlingstar possesses several notable abilities befitting his rank and aggressive nature. He is classified as a spear-type Dragon and is capable of creating a massive spear that he uses as his primary weapon in combat. In his full dragon form, his wings form two distinct half-cones. His signature finishing move involves combining these two wing-cones to perform a high-speed charge that drills into and pierces through his enemy.
