Description
Shinichirou Oda is a third-year student at Seiin High School and the dedicated captain of its boys' volleyball team, playing as an outside hitter. He possesses green eyes and short brown hair, featuring a small tuft falling over his forehead. Standing at 163 cm (5'4"), he is the shortest team member, a fact often highlighted. His physical stature creates a distinct contrast with his position and responsibilities. During matches, he wears the team's navy blue jersey with sky blue and white striped sleeves and matching shorts, bearing the number 1 and the school name, completed by white kneepads and white volleyball shoes with black accents. Off the court, he wears the standard Seiin High uniform, typically with his tie loosened.

As captain, Oda demonstrates a passion for volleyball described as more fervent than any other member. He actively guides and supports teammates, particularly first-years Yuni Kuroba and Kimichika Haijima, helping them navigate personal conflicts and integrate into the team. His commitment includes recruiting efforts, like persuading Haijima to rejoin the volleyball club. Oda also organizes team activities, such as a club exchange program where volleyball members temporarily swapped with the baseball club to increase participation and morale.

Despite his leadership, Oda faces challenges due to his height, leading him to consider abandoning volleyball after high school. To compensate, he relies on an exceptional jumping reach of 315 cm. This technical skill enables him to remain competitive as an outside hitter, employing a playing style emphasizing precision and verticality over raw power.

Oda's interactions reveal a persistent and observant nature. He notices Haijima's skillful sets during practice and highly values teamwork dynamics, frequently collaborating with vice-captain Misao Aoki to strengthen the squad. His backstory includes a change in hairstyle; during his first year, he wore his hair slicked back, similar to teammate Yusuke Okuma in the present.

Throughout the team's documented journey, Oda appears in all official matches and training sessions. His development focuses on overcoming self-doubt about his stature through unwavering effort and tactical adaptability, embodying resilience within the sport.
