Description
Bubbleman is a NetNavi who appears in the Rockman.EXE Beast+ anime. His origins trace back to earlier events in the series, where he was a member of the Darkloids, a group of evil NetNavis. After a confrontation with Colonel.EXE, he was frozen in an icy prison for two decades before eventually thawing out. Upon waking, he discovered a small, baby-like NetNavi named Trill and a mysterious portal leading to a parallel world. His role in the Beast and Beast+ story arcs is defined by his discovery and protection of Trill, which sets the stage for the conflict with the Cybeasts.

In terms of personality, Bubbleman is portrayed as notably incompetent and weak, with his schemes frequently ending in failure. He has a childish demeanor and often adds the verbal tic "blub" to the end of his sentences. Despite his self-identification as an agent of chaos who wants to create a world for Darkloids, his actions reveal a more complex nature. He secretly yearns for companionship and acceptance, which leads him to form genuine friendships with other Navis like IceMan and SpoutMan, with whom he enjoys building secret bases and collecting trinkets. Unlike many of his former allies, he never used a Dark Chip, demonstrating a line he would not cross.

Bubbleman's primary motivation throughout Beast+ is a blend of his old desire to cause trouble and a more bumbling, self-serving instinct for survival. While he does not possess grand ambitions of conquest, he finds satisfaction in small-scale disruptions. In Beast+, he aligns himself with the human criminals Yuika and Captain Kurohige. Together, they use the remains of Onibi Island as a base of operations to sow terror in the real world using Copyroids, which are robotic bodies that allow NetNavis to physically manifest. His role is often that of a comic relief antagonist, whose contributions are more humorous than genuinely threatening.

Key relationships are central to Bubbleman's development. His most defining bond is his unwavering loyalty to his former master, ShadeMan. Even after ShadeMan's apparent destruction, Bubbleman remains devoted and seeks to honor his memory. This loyalty contrasts with his later, more self-serving alliances. His friendships with IceMan and SpoutMan highlight his softer side, as these are relationships based on mutual enjoyment rather than villainous schemes. His role in the larger story is minor but distinct; he acts as a catalyst for the main plot by finding Trill, and later provides logistical support to other villains by supplying them with Copyroids, even attempting to build a giant, malfunctioning combat unit.

Over the course of his appearances, Bubbleman shows a notable shift from a dedicated Darkloid to a petty but largely harmless mischief-maker. His attempts to be taken seriously as a villain are consistently undermined by his own cowardice and incompetence. By the end of Beast+, his character has further devolved into a small-time operator; he eventually becomes a street vendor selling small, toy-like Copyroids he dubs "mini-roids". This final role suggests a complete abandonment of his former life as an agent of darkness in favor of a more mundane, albeit still eccentric, existence.

Bubbleman's notable abilities are centered on his aquatic theme. He is capable of manipulating water and creating bubbles for various offensive purposes. His known attacks include Bubble Parade, where he summons a stream of bubbles that can obscure vision or be popped, Fish Missile, where bubbles release indestructible fish projectiles, and Sea Crab, where he throws a crab-shaped projectile at his opponent. He can also deploy bubble-based mines and, when low on power, use an Aqua Shot attack with a harpoon. Beyond combat, his practical skills in Beast+ include the ability to operate and supply Copyroids, though his technical aptitude is questionable, as the units he provides are often poorly repaired and prone to malfunction.
