Description
Mikeru, also referred to as Michel, is the main antagonist of the second season of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure. This character is an artificial being created by the ancient angels, resembling an angel with long green hair, blue eyes, and wings. Mikeru harbors a deep disgust for humanity due to the environmental damage humans have inflicted upon the Earth, a world that he and the other ancient angels originally created. This disdain fuels his personal vendetta against the Mermaid Princesses, whom he sees as betraying their duty by forming connections with humanity.
Mikeru possesses a weak physical body, which forces him to rely on other means to survive and carry out his plans. To sustain himself, he steals the memories of the human prince Kaito Domoto and the heart of the newborn mermaid princess Seira, sources of great power. He also requires the body of a human host, which he finds in Mikaru Amagi, a lonely and wealthy girl who falls in love with Kaito. Mikeru manipulates Mikaru's desperation and emotional fragility to take control of her, using her as a vessel. He believes that angels and mermaids are superior beings because they understand the importance of the Earth and hold innate powers, in contrast to humans, whom he views as destructive and lesser.
In the anime and manga, Mikeru is initially portrayed as cruel and manipulative, attacking the weak and blackmailing the mermaid princesses to enlist them in his war against humans. He is immensely powerful, resistant to the mermaid princesses' songs until the final confrontation. However, the manga reveals that Mikeru is actually under the control of a higher entity named Fuku, and at his core, he is good and gentle.
