Description
Kuniumi Maitake is a twenty-four-year-old English teacher at Maido Academy, where he also works as a student teacher and is known almost exclusively by his preferred nickname, Maity. He stands tall at one hundred eighty-six centimeters with a slim build, short black hair, and purple eyes, and his strikingly good looks immediately earn him a devoted following among the female students. He is the cousin of Haruka Fukagawa, which initially connects him to the broader social circle at school.

Personality-wise, Maity carries himself with a calm, princely charm and a refined manner that many characters liken to a fairy-tale figure. He is gentle, polite, and approachable without being overbearing, which makes him easy to admire. Despite the attention he receives, he remains level-headed and never uses his appearance to manipulate others. He is also notably patient, shown by how comfortably he handles his eventual wife Yuri, a woman so beautiful that people mistake her for a foreigner and whose words can be surprisingly harsh; Maity is entirely accustomed to her temperament and takes it in stride.

His role in the story is primarily that of a supportive catalyst. When Risa Koizumi becomes infatuated with him, partly because he closely resembles Lord Kane, a character from her favorite dating simulation game, her open admiration provokes a spike of jealousy in Atsushi Otani. That jealousy forces Otani to begin acknowledging his own deeper feelings for Risa, making Maity an essential indirect driver of the central romance. Maity himself never pursues Risa romantically, and he never becomes a genuine rival; instead, he remains a kind, unobtrusive presence who ultimately fades into a settled, happily married life.

Key relationships include his bond with his cousin Haruka, his brief but meaningful connection with Risa that sparks Otani’s realization, and his marriage to Yuri, nicknamed Jody. Yuri’s striking appearance and sharp tongue create a visually stunning and sharp-witted couple that appears effortlessly perfect. In his family, Maity has a mother, a father, a sister, and later his wife.

Over the course of the story, Maity does not undergo major personal change; his development lies in how he helps the main characters evolve. His arrival serves as a turning point that brings hidden emotions to the surface, and his calm departure from the romantic equation allows the principal pair to move forward. By the sequel, he is established as a married man and a background figure, having settled into a stable domestic life.

Notable traits include an understated physical grace and a knack for putting others at ease, but he has no supernatural or exaggerated abilities. His hobbies are driving and following basketball and cars, and his build and demeanor complement his image as a cool, competent adult. He is a supporting presence whose charm, maturity, and unintentional role as a romantic lightning rod all contribute to an important phase of the main narrative.
