Description
Fuuta, also known as Fuuta de la Stella, is a young boy who possesses a unique and invaluable talent for ranking people based on their abilities. His full name translates to Fuuta of the Stars, a title that reflects the celestial phenomena accompanying his power. He is introduced as a child with short light brown hair and large, dark brown eyes, typically seen wearing a long black and white striped scarf over a black sweatshirt. In the future, he appears as a much taller teenager, often dressed in a white vest over a long-sleeved green shirt with a black tie.

At the core of Fuuta's character is his enormous ranking book, which is nearly half his own height yet somehow fits inside his jacket pocket. This book contains rankings on thousands of individuals, making Fuuta an informant of immense value to the mafia, with copies of his rankings sometimes fetching enormous sums of money. His personality is generally cheerful and he forms strong bonds of loyalty. He is notably overjoyed when his own rankings are proven wrong, as this defies his understanding of his perfect ability. This characteristic is first demonstrated when he ranks Tsunayoshi Sawada as last in every aspect of combat, only to be delighted when Tsuna, in Dying Will Mode, surpasses these predictions, leading Fuuta to call Tsuna his big brother.

Fuuta's motivations are simple: he wishes to use his ability and find a place of safety. Because his ranking book is so powerful that its possession could allow someone to dominate the world, Fuuta is constantly chased by various mafia families. After Tsuna saves him, Fuuta is allowed to live in Tsuna's house, where he assumes the role of a younger brother figure. His primary role in the story evolves from a target for villains to a crucial, though non-combative, ally who provides intelligence and support to Tsuna and his family. He shares a key relationship with Tsuna as his revered older brother, and is often seen in the company of other young characters like Lambo and I-Pin, whom he helps take care of. In the future timeline, he reveals to Lambo that he was once his guardian, indicating close ties formed over the years.

Fuuta undergoes significant development, particularly when comparing his present and future selves. In the present, he is a child who needs protection. During the Kokuyo Arc, he is captured and possessed by Mukuro Rokudo, who forces him to use his rankings to identify the Vongola Tenth Generation's guardians. To protect Tsuna, Fuuta invokes Omerta, the vow of silence, and refuses to cooperate. As punishment, Mukuro keeps Fuuta possessed and awake for ten days, preventing him from speaking or sleeping, an experience that causes him great suffering. In the Future Arc, Fuuta has grown much more mature and capable. He works with Bianchi to gather intelligence on the Millefiore family and has developed extensive technological know-how, even helping to repair complex machinery. However, this older version of Fuuta appears to have lost his ability to create new rankings, supposedly because his heart was closed after years of maintaining the Vow of Silence. Despite this, he remains a supportive and vital member of Tsuna's family.

Fuuta's most notable ability is his ranking power. When he begins the process, a distinctive phenomenon occurs: gravity distorts around him, causing objects to float in the air, and images of stars and galaxies appear in his eyes. It is rumored that he communicates with a Ranking Planet in the galaxy to obtain his information, though the true method is unknown. His rankings are said to be 100% accurate under normal conditions, but he must be looking directly at the person to assess them and must write the result down instantly, otherwise he will forget it. A significant limitation is that rain weakens his power, causing his rankings to become incorrect and random. Despite this vulnerability, Fuuta's ability is so precise that he has ranked 86,202 people in the mafia alone, and his information is considered truly invaluable.
