Description
Miria Harvent is an eccentric thief and the devoted partner and lover of Isaac Dian, with whom she carries out whimsical robberies throughout Prohibition-era America. She wholeheartedly trusts and supports everything Isaac says, often mimicking his body language and repeating his words without fully understanding them, which makes the pair appear extremely foolish and oblivious. Despite this, Miria possesses a bubbly, optimistic, and deeply caring nature; she genuinely believes in the goodness of the people she meets and spreads joy and confidence wherever she goes. In 1930, she and Isaac unknowingly steal a bottle of immortality elixir, mistake it for alcohol, and distribute it at a celebration, thereby gaining eternal youth and the inability to die. The following year, they board the Flying Pussyfoot express train and survive its brutal hijacking, befriending gangsters Jacuzzi Splot and Nice Holystone as well as the immortal boy Czeslaw Meyer, whom they later rescue and promise to treat as family. In 1934, Isaac is arrested and imprisoned on Alcatraz, but the two are reunited later that same year. Although they do not realize their own immortality until 2001, they continue to live happily and carefree. Miria lacks supernatural powers or combat skills, but her excellent teamwork with Isaac allows them to pull off outrageous heists using elaborate disguises, deception, and theatrical antics. Their luck and boundless enthusiasm often turn dangerous situations into fortunate outcomes, and their charismatic presence leaves a lasting, positive impression on everyone they encounter, including hardened gangsters and lonely individuals alike. Over the course of the story, Miria’s relationship with Isaac deepens, and together they become a unifying force that connects many of the series’ disparate characters, embodying the themes of mischief, love, and resilience.
