Description
Nilval, whose full name is Nilval Nephew, is a character from the science fiction anime Heroic Age. She is a female military officer of the Iron Tribe, humanity, and serves as the acting commander of the Azu-Azot fleet at the age of 45. She attended officer's school alongside Captain Mobeedo, with whom she maintains a professional camaraderie. Known for having the worst luck yet being highly dependable, Nilval possesses a rough demeanor that is tempered by her competence and the deep respect she earns from her crew.
Her motivations center on the survival and victory of the Iron Tribe in their conflict with the Silver and Bronze Tribes. She is a pragmatic and loyal officer who places great faith in the abilities of Princess Dhianeila, becoming an ardent supporter of Dhianeila's policies and strategies. This loyalty drives her to challenge leadership she considers ineffective or counterproductive.
Nilval's role in the story begins as a commander of a significant fleet. She is later transferred to serve aboard Meleagros' flagship, the Althaea. There, she becomes openly critical of the tactical methods employed by Meleagros and Atalantees, to the point where she is relieved of command for insubordination. Undeterred, she gathers enough support among the fleet to successfully relieve Meleagros and Atalantees of their command and assumes leadership of the fleet herself. In this capacity, she plays a key part in coordinating humanity's military efforts during the climactic war.
After the conflict with the Silver Tribe ends, Nilval is appointed as the Grand Duchess of Earth, ruling from a space station positioned at the entrance to the solar system. She herself downplays the title, describing it as merely a fancy term for a toll collector.
Nilval does not possess any superhuman abilities or Nodos powers; her strength lies in her command skills, her resilience under pressure, and her ability to inspire and organize others.
