Description
Gavlet Gablae is a young man from the rural countryside of the planet Koam, born into a family of minor local nobility. Driven by ambition and the hopes of his hometown, he left home with a used Heavy Metal robot, the Allone, which he purchased with borrowed money, aiming to earn a commission in the military forces of the Pentagona system's absolute ruler, Oldna Poseidal. Standing approximately 210 centimeters tall with long, wavy blue-black hair and blue eyes, Gavlet possesses the striking appearance of a handsome nobleman or a gallant knight.
This knightly image is not just a matter of looks, but the core of his personality. Gavlet Gablae genuinely believes in the old-fashioned ideals of chivalry, honor, and glory, making him a character often compared to Don Quixote. In his world, the era of knights piloting Heavy Metals in personal combat is considered a romantic notion of the past, and modern pilots are viewed as simple soldiers in a vast military machine. This rivalry defines much of his early role, as he joins a band of wasteland bandits after their leader dies, eventually leading them to enlist as a unit in the Poseidal military. Despite his considerable piloting talent and a string of promotions that grant him command of the vessel Slender Skala and eventually a place among the Poseidal Knights, the Elite 13, he is consistently unable to best his rival, often suffering defeat and humiliation in their encounters.
