Description
Elizabeth is a mysterious white, penguin-like Amanto, or alien, who serves as the constant companion and loyal partner of the revolutionary Kotarou Katsura. Originally given to Katsura by their mutual acquaintance, the wandering merchant Sakamoto Tatsuma, Elizabeth quickly became more than a mere pet and evolved into an inseparable sidekick and a trusted member of the Jouishishi, the faction of revolutionaries fighting against the Bakufu and its alien overlords.
Physically, Elizabeth stands at an imposing one hundred eighty centimeters and weighs one hundred twenty-three kilograms. Its most defining features are its small round eyes, its duck-like or penguin-like stature, and its complete lack of a visible mouth. To communicate, Elizabeth almost always holds up a handwritten signboard, or placard, expressing its thoughts in place of spoken dialogue, which adds to its inscrutable and often comedic presence.
In terms of personality, Elizabeth is typically placid and reserved, but it displays a fierce and unshakeable loyalty to Katsura. It is brave in the face of danger and has saved its partner from peril on numerous occasions.
