Description
Ketsuno Ana, whose full name is Crystel Ketsuno, is a popular weather girl and reporter for the Oedo news network in the anime Gintama. She is widely recognized for her cheerful and jolly demeanor on screen, which has earned her a significant following, with Sakata Gintoki being one of her most devoted fans. Beyond her public persona as a weather presenter, Ana leads a secret double life; by night, she works as an onmyoji, a traditional sorcerer or exorcist. Her skills in this field are considerable, as she is proficient in various spells and is able to summon a personal shikigami named Gedoumaru, whom she considers a close friend and part of her family.

Ana grew up alongside her older brother, Ketsuno Seimei, who later became the head of the Ketsuno clan, and Shirino Douman, a childhood friend who would become the head of the rival Shirino clan. Her motivations are largely tied to her dual professions. As a weather girl, she uses her onmyoji abilities to accurately predict the weather, a task that involves stationing demon familiars around the city to provide foresight. She is dedicated to this role, which she sees as a way to protect the people. In her personal life, she was once married to Douman in an attempt to forge a truce between their two feuding families. However, the marriage was unhappy and she grew weak and withdrawn, often sitting alone and gazing at the sky, which her brother interpreted as a sign she had to quit her day job and return home. After her brother forcefully took her back and the marriage ended, Ana returned to her position as a weather lady and reverted to her cheerful, original self.

In the story, Ana plays a central role during the Diviner Arc. She hires the Yorozuya, the odd-jobs trio led by Gintoki, to investigate why her weather forecasts have been consistently wrong. She reveals that the Shirino clan has been using sorcery to alter the weather, sabotaging her reports. During this time, she entrusts her summon, Gedoumaru, to assist Gintoki and his friends. Her key relationships are complex; she has a deep bond with her over-protective brother, Seimei, who will go to great lengths to ensure her safety and happiness. Her relationship with her former husband, Douman, is strained, as he holds a grudge and actively seeks to undermine her work. Ana is largely unaware of the full extent of Gintoki's crush on her, viewing him simply as a loyal fan. Over the course of her appearances, she shows little character development besides the stark transformation seen during her failed marriage, which highlights how integral her independence and career are to her identity. Her notable abilities include her talents as an onmyoji, where she demonstrates combat proficiency and the power to command shikigami, effectively using her spiritual powers to confront supernatural threats. She also owns a dog with the extraordinarily long name Last of Mohican Living of the Dead McGuffin.
