Ana Ketsuno, whose full name is Christel Ketsuno, is a popular weather girl and reporter for the Oedo News network, known on air as Ana Ketsuno. She stands 163 centimeters tall and her birthday is December 14. In her public persona, she is usually jolly and cheerful, which has earned her a significant following, including Sakata Gintoki who has a major crush on her—though she remains largely unaware, viewing him simply as a supportive fan. Beyond her daytime career, she is also an Onmyoji, a practitioner of sorcery and spiritual arts, and her accurate weather forecasts come from her family using their Onmyoji powers to station demon familiars around Edo to observe atmospheric conditions. She has short, straight brown hair and typically wears a pink yukata, though flashbacks show her in traditional Onmyoji clothing. Her personal summon is a demon named Gedoumaru, whom she treats as a friend and family member, and she also owns a dog with an extraordinarily long and nonsensical name. Her older brother, Ketsuno Seimei, is the head of the Ketsuno clan and extremely over-protective of her. In an attempt to forge a truce between her family and the rival Shirino clan, she was married to her childhood friend Shirino Douman. After the marriage, she quit her job and became withdrawn, often sitting alone on the porch gazing at the sky. Her brother noticed her declining health and forcefully took her back to the Ketsuno estate, leading to a divorce and her return to broadcasting, after which she regained her former cheerful self. During the Diviner Arc, her forecasts begin failing because the Shirino clan uses sorcery to alter the weather as an act of vengeance. Facing the loss of her beloved job, she enlists the help of the Yorozuya, the odd-jobs business run by Gintoki, to investigate and resolve the conflict.
