Description
General Froi Tiedoll is a middle-aged Exorcist holding the rank of General within the European Branch of the organization. He is a man of approximately forty years, though his disheveled appearance often makes him seem older. He has fluffy, greying-light brown hair that he keeps tied back, along with a mustache and an unkempt beard. He wears glasses and typically carries a small canvas hanging from a string around his neck. When traveling, he often wears tattered cloaks over his uniform, which is frequently dirty and in poor repair, belying his lean and muscular build.

Tiedoll's personality is defined by his dual nature as both a sensitive artist and a dedicated mentor. He is a sensible man who is fiercely loyal to his duties, yet he is not above disobeying orders from headquarters if he deems it necessary. Unlike some of his peers who are frontline combatants, Tiedoll is foremost a teacher. He is genuinely kind and deeply affectionate toward his apprentices, treating Yu Kanda, Noise Marie, and the late Daisya Barry as if they were his own children. He is openly emotional, weeping openly upon learning of Daisya's death and fervently wishing for his peace. This paternal devotion extends to his relentless pursuit of new Exorcists, as he is constantly searching for and enthusiastically taking on new pupils to guide. His artistic nature means he frequently stops during missions to sketch the scenery, as he has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and small wonders of the world. He is also a pious man, believing that God will provide new apostles to save the world when they are most needed.

His primary motivation is the discovery, training, and protection of new Exorcists to fight against the Millennium Earl. He refuses direct orders to return to headquarters, insisting that his mission to find "apostles" in the field is paramount. This commitment to nurturing the next generation is his driving force, and he holds a deep-seated sense of gratitude towards those who help his students, which can override his loyalty to the organization's strict rules.

In the story, Tiedoll serves as a powerful ally and a source of wisdom and support. After the death of General Yeegar, he becomes more prominent, leading his own unit. He plays a crucial role during the battle in Edo, assisting in the destruction of giant Akuma and coordinating the defense of his comrades. He is present for the invasion of the Black Order's headquarters, where he deploys his strongest defensive technique to protect the wounded. Later, when Allen Walker becomes a fugitive, Tiedoll demonstrates his independent nature by helping the young Exorcist escape from London, motivated by his gratitude for Allen's previous efforts to save Kanda. He also plays a pivotal role in Kanda's development, revealing that his student had long since reached the level of a General and pushing him to accept that rank.

His key relationships are centered on his disciples. He shares a complex bond with Yu Kanda, who is often annoyed by Tiedoll's overt fatherly affection but ultimately respects him enough to follow his guidance. He is the master to Noise Marie, a fellow Exorcist, and was deeply affected by the death of his former apprentice, Daisya Barry. He also takes on Chaozii as a new student after the boy inherits Daisya's Innocence fragment.

Throughout the series, Tiedoll shows subtle development, primarily in his willingness to act against the Black Order's Central command. His love for his students is so profound that it becomes his moral compass, leading him to defy direct orders to protect Kanda and to assist Allen Walker, fully aware of the personal consequences.

General Tiedoll's notable abilities stem from his Equipment-type Innocence, known as Maker of Eden. Before using his powers, he often proclaims the beauty of the world. His primary offensive technique is called Art. By drawing a cross and rod, he creates a spiritual chisel that, when struck into the ground, produces constructs from a cloud of dust. The most common manifestation is one or more massive, white, lanky humanoid giants that can fight for him. He can also create specific replicas, such as a detailed "Art of Kanda" capable of wielding a fake Mugen sword, restraining enemies with vines, and even detonating for a powerful explosion. Other creations include a horse-drawn carriage with curtains as strong as jail bars. His defensive technique is known as Embracing Garden. This ability generates a thick, white forest of thorns and roses controlled by his will, forming a barrier described as the strongest defensive ability of any Innocence. It is powerful enough to withstand a direct attack from a Level 4 Akuma, though maintaining a large barrier for an extended period severely drains his stamina.
