Jerry Russell

Jerry Russell was an American voice actor associated with FUNimation Entertainment, known for his work in English dubs of anime series and films during the 2000s and early 2010s. Born on January 5, 1936, in West Warwick, Rhode Island, he had an extensive career in theater before becoming involved in voice acting. He was the founder of the Stage West Theatre in Fort Worth, Texas, established in 1979, where he also served as producing director for many years. Russell passed away on September 5, 2013, at the age of 77 due to complications from pneumonia following an emergency abdominal surgery.
Russell provided voices for a wide array of characters in numerous anime productions. One of his noted roles was as Saburota Negishi in the 2010 series Princess Jellyfish. He was also known for voicing Tim Marcoh in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, General Froi Tiedoll in D.Gray-man, and Lamies in Shakugan no Shana III (Final). His other prominent credits included Aroldo Eklund in Spice and Wolf II, Kogan Iwamoto in Shigurui: Death Frenzy, Ohji in Casshern Sins, and Papa in the FUNimation dub of Initial D: First Stage. He also voiced characters in long-running series such as One Piece, where he played roles like Crocus and Toto, and Fairy Tail. One of his final voice roles was Grandpa Nirasaki in the 2012 film Wolf Children.
