Description
Froi Tiedoll is a General-class Exorcist serving the European branch of the Black Order. A man of 41 years with French nationality, his appearance is notably scruffy, often characterized by his fluffy, greying hair, an unkempt beard, a pair of glasses, and a lean yet muscular build. He is almost always seen carrying art supplies, such as a canvas and brushes, reflecting his lifelong passion for painting and sketching. His birthday is on April 19th.

Tiedoll has the soul of an artist, which deeply influences his personality and worldview. He is a sensitive and sentimental individual who appreciates the small beauties and hidden natural wonders of the world, often stopping during important missions to sketch an inspiring landscape. His emotional nature is extreme; he is prone to crying openly, whether from sorrow, joy, or pride, and this tendency is one of his most defining traits. Beneath this soft exterior, however, is a stubborn and fiercely loyal man. He is more of a dedicated teacher than a fighter by nature, prioritizing the discovery and nurturing of new Exorcists above all else.

His primary motivation is his role as a mentor. Tiedoll treats his apprentices not as subordinates but as his own children, a habit that often embarrasses his students. He is driven by a deep sense of responsibility to find new "apostles," individuals capable of wielding Innocence, and to guide them. He is also a pious man, believing that God will provide the necessary warriors to save the world. His loyalty to his work is absolute, at one point refusing direct orders to return to headquarters in favor of continuing his search for new Exorcists.

As one of the five Generals, Tiedoll plays a crucial role as a pillar of the Order's European forces. He primarily functions as a mentor and guardian to several key Exorcists. His most prominent apprentice is Yu Kanda, a relationship marked by Kanda's outward annoyance and Tiedoll's unwavering, paternal affection. He also trained Noise Marie and Daisya Barry, and later takes on Chaoji Han as a new student. Tiedoll deeply mourned Daisya following his death in battle. He holds a significant distrust for his fellow General, Cross Marian, viewing him as a manipulative man who uses others as puppets.

Throughout the story, Tiedoll demonstrates considerable development not in power, but in his role as a strategist and guardian. In critical battles, such as the attack on the Order's headquarters, he shifts from an offensive fighter to a protector, using his abilities to shield wounded personnel. Later, he plays a pivotal role in Kanda's journey, revealing he had long known of Kanda's ability to become a General and using this as a way to grant his apprentice the freedom to pursue his own path while proving his loyalty to the Order. His tearful pride at Kanda's ascension is a powerful culmination of their relationship.

Froi Tiedoll wields an Equipment-type Innocence known as the Maker of Eden. It manifests as two objects: a cross and a scepter-like rod. Before activating his abilities, he often declares to witness the beauty of the world. His powers are primarily creation-based, split between offensive and defensive techniques.

His offensive technique is called Art. By drawing with the cross and rod, he creates a spiritual chisel that, when struck into the ground, can spawn massive, white, lanky humanoid giants to fight for him. He can create multiple giants or even summon only a single limb, such as a fist. This technique is versatile, as he has also been shown creating a functional replica of Kanda to serve as a decoy in combat.

His defensive technique is known as the Embracing Garden. Considered the strongest defensive ability among all Innocence users in the Order, this power creates a vast barrier controlled by Tiedoll's will. It manifests as a thick, white forest of roses and thorns that covers and protects those within, proving resilient enough to survive a direct attack from a Level 4 Akuma. While immensely powerful, maintaining this large-scale defense significantly drains his energy.
