TV-Series
Description
Giru is a small, white-colored Machine Mutant who becomes an integral companion to Goku, Pan, and Trunks during their travels through space. His original designation is DB4649T2006RS, though he prefers to be called Giru, a name that is a pun on the word gear. He was created by the villainous Dr. Myuu on the planet M-2.

Physically, Giru is a compact robot with a primarily white shell, black retractable limbs and appendages, and a single large, glowing red eye protected by a round, transparent cover. His body contains a vast array of hidden weapons and tools. He has the ability to fly and can retract his arms and legs, curling into a ball-like shape for rapid movement or compact storage.

In terms of personality, Giru is often characterized as being cowardly and prone to panic, frequently repeating his own name or the word danger when frightened. Despite this timidity, he is capable of genuine bravery, particularly when his friends are in danger. He shares a unique and complex bond with Pan, who considers him a best friend but is also quick to scold or physically abuse him, a dynamic that often makes Giru fearful of her. His relationship with Trunks is one of strategic trust, as he confides his true mission to Trunks and works with him on a plan to deceive their enemies. He holds a deep loyalty to Goku, Pan, and Trunks, which ultimately leads him to betray his creator, Dr. Myuu.

This betrayal forms the core of his character's background and motivation. Initially programmed by Dr. Myuu to infiltrate and spy on the Saiyans, Giru was sent to lure them to planet M-2 so their powerful DNA could be harvested. However, due to a memory failure, he forgot this mission until his programming began to resurface. After spending time with the group and forming genuine emotional attachments, he chooses to side with them. He reveals his mission to Trunks, and together they stage a false betrayal to get close to and ultimately defeat Dr. Myuu and his ultimate creation, Baby.

Throughout the story of Dragon Ball GT, Giru plays a crucial role as both a navigator and a combat support unit. His most important function is serving as a living Dragon Radar. After consuming the Z-Fighters' Dragon Radar for energy during his first moments of desperation, the device was integrated into his own software, embedding the radar's display on his back. This makes him indispensable for the hunt for the Black Star Dragon Balls. In battle, he is equipped with several notable abilities, including a powerful missile launcher and a machine gun that can be deployed from his chest cavity. He also possesses a unique healing ray that can reverse the effects of General Rilldo's metal-transforming ability, which he uses to restore Gohan. During the battle with the Shadow Dragon Haze Shenron, his mechanical nature makes him immune to the dragon's pollution, allowing him to save Goku and Pan.

Giru's development is marked by his shift from a programmed spy to a selfless companion. He experiences several critical moments of sacrifice, including attacking Baby Vegeta to protect others, an act that results in his destruction. He is destroyed and subsequently repaired multiple times: first by Trunks after the battle with Baby, and again later after being damaged by Super 17. His most significant death occurs at the hands of the Shadow Dragon Eis Shenron. Unlike his previous destructions, he is not repaired by technology this time; instead, he is fully resurrected when Goku uses his final wish on the Eternal Dragon, Shenron. After the conclusion of the series, Giru is last seen living peacefully on Earth with Pan and her family.
