Sonny Strait is an American voice actor, ADR director, and comic book artist widely recognized for his extensive work in English dubs of Japanese anime series, primarily with Funimation. Born on June 28, 1965, in Kaufman, Texas, he began his voice acting career in 1999 after initially pursuing work as a comic book artist and illustrator.

Strait is perhaps best known for his long-running role as Krillin in the Funimation English adaptations of the Dragon Ball franchise. He first voiced the character in 1999 and has since consistently portrayed the adult and teen incarnations of Krillin across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Dragon Ball Super, and numerous related films and video games. In addition to Krillin, he has also provided the voice for the character Bardock within the same series. Another signature role is that of Usopp in the English adaptation of One Piece, a part he has played since 2007 across the series and multiple films, including One Piece Stampede and One Piece: Episode of Skypiea.

Strait has a long association with the character Arsène Lupin III, having voiced the titular gentleman thief in a multitude of Lupin III titles. His credits include films such as Lupin III: Dragon of Doom, Lupin III: Island of Assassins, Lupin III: Crisis in Tokyo, Lupin III: Farewell to Nostradamus, and Lupin III: The Columbus Files, among others. His range as a voice actor extends to a wide variety of other notable characters. He voiced Maes Hughes in both Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Apachai Hopachai in KenIchi the Mightiest Disciple. He played the role of Korosensei in Assassination Classroom and its related projects, and provided the voice for Re-Destro in My Hero Academia. He also voiced Joker in Fire Force, Maple in Show By Rock!! Stars!!, and even took on the role of Popuko for a segment of the surreal comedy series Pop Team Epic.

In addition to his on-screen roles, Strait has a significant behind-the-scenes career. He has worked as an ADR director and script writer on several television series, including Dragon Ball Z, Case Closed, Lupin the Third, Escaflowne, Prison School, and Yuri on Ice. His work as a director has been noted for its range across different genres.

Beyond voice acting, Strait is an accomplished comic creator. He has over seventeen published works to his name, beginning with his self-published debut, Mr. Average. He is also known for his illustration work on the long-running independent comic series Elfquest. In 2007, he wrote and illustrated the graphic novel We Shadows, published by Tokyopop, which was nominated for the American Library Association's Best Graphic Novel award in 2008.
