TV-Series
Description
Arvind Lavie, often called by the nickname Robbie, is the assistant chief clerk of the Debris Section, a position he considers to be the section's second-in-command. Hailing from India, he is a middle-aged man with black hair and eyes, born on August 8, 2032, making him 42 years old during the events of the series. As a television original character not found in the original manga, he brings a distinct presence to the animated adaptation.

On the surface, Arvind appears to be a trickster and a prop comedian, often using his unusually flexible body for comedic effect. He frequently behaves in a sycophantic manner towards his superiors, and he never misses an opportunity to assert his authority over those he considers beneath him in the corporate hierarchy. This seemingly opportunistic and obnoxious demeanor, however, masks a deeper, more sympathetic motivation. He is a divorced father of seven children, all of whom live with their mother in his homeland of India. His relentless pursuit of career advancement and his willingness to ingratiate himself with the company's administration are driven by a profound love for his children and a pressing need to pay a substantial amount of child support, all in the hope of securing a better life for them.

Within the narrative of the Debris Section, Arvind often serves as a source of office gossip and comic relief, as seen when he mistakenly spreads a rumor that his colleague Fee Carmichael is having an affair with a company director. His role is largely that of an administrator and a self-proclaimed number two to the section's chief, Philippe Myers. He maintains various connections within the Technora Corporation's management, frequently using company parties to network, though this has yet to earn him genuine respect from his peers. Despite these efforts, his core relationships are with the other members of his ragtag team, including Hachirota Hachimaki Hoshino, Yuri Mihalkov, and the aforementioned Fee Carmichael. While he may posture as a boss, he is ultimately a part of their close-knit, dysfunctional family.

Arvind experiences a notable moment of development during a critical mission to retrieve an experimental, radar-invisible mine left by a terrorist group. When his colleagues are in peril, he overcomes his characteristic self-preservation and fear, taking decisive and courageous action that demonstrates his capacity for bravery and self-sacrifice for the sake of his team and his own self-respect. This event reveals the core of his character beneath the comedic facade. Beyond his flexibility and skill as an amateur magician, his most significant ability is his resilience and the complex drive that pushes him to navigate the difficulties of his job, all while carrying the heavy personal responsibility of supporting his seven children from afar.
