Description
Miho is a minor character from Saint Seiya who first appears as Seiya's childhood friend. She grew up alongside Seiya and his sister Seika at the same orphanage, the orphanage where she later works as a caretaker. After Seiya left to become a Saint, Miho stayed behind to look after the younger children. She is a calm, sensible, and nurturing young woman who deeply cares for those around her, especially Seiya, for whom she harbors romantic feelings that she is shy about expressing. Her primary motivation is her concern for Seiya's well-being, and she often worries about the dangers he faces as a Saint, even though she does not fully understand his commitment to fighting. In the story, Miho appears mainly during the early arcs, providing emotional support for Seiya and helping in his search for Seika. She also serves as a representative of ordinary people witnessing the supernatural conflicts, particularly in the Hades OVA where she and the children react with fear to the Greatest Eclipse. Her relationship with Seiya is one of unspoken affection, and she gradually recedes from the narrative as Seiya becomes more involved with Saori and the Sanctuary. Miho has no combat abilities or Cosmo-related powers; her role is purely that of a civilian friend and caretaker. She does not undergo significant character development, remaining a gentle, background figure who symbolizes the peaceful life Seiya left behind.
