Description
Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun is the second princess of the holy kingdom of Seyruun, a realm renowned for its mastery of white magic. As the younger daughter of Crown Prince Philionel, she holds a position of nobility but rarely relies on her status, preferring to earn her place through action. Following the disappearance of her older sister, she became more directly involved in the affairs of her kingdom and the wider world. A traumatic event from her childhood, the murder of her mother by an assassin, deeply affected her and contributed to her strong aversion to using swords or bladed weapons in combat.

Amelia’s most defining characteristic is her absolute and unwavering obsession with justice. She inherited this trait from her father, the "Ultimate Pacifist," and the two share a unique bond, often engaging in passionate, lengthy speeches about truth, love, and righteousness. This passion frequently manifests in her signature behavior before a battle: climbing to a high vantage point, such as a tree, a statue, or even a companion’s shoulders, to deliver a dramatic declaration of justice to her opponents. The effectiveness of this grandstanding is consistently undercut by her profound clumsiness, as she almost invariably loses her balance and lands painfully on her head or face. Despite this, her positive energy is so potent that it serves as a unique form of mental attack against demons, who feed on negative emotions, making her hymns to life a genuine threat to them.

Her primary motivation is to fight for justice and protect the innocent, a goal that brings her into conflict with various conspiracies and demonic threats. She initially joins the company of the powerful sorceress Lina Inverse following a divine revelation or a shaman’s strong intuition, sensing that her path is tied to Lina’s. Throughout the series, her role within the group is multifaceted. She serves as the primary healer and support mage, using her advanced white magic to recover and protect her allies. However, she is far from a passive cleric; her proficiency in martial arts and a unique spell called Visfarank allow her to channel magical energy directly into her fists, making her a formidable physical combatant capable of striking even astral beings.

Her key relationships evolve significantly over time. She looks up to Lina as a powerful older sister figure, though she often finds herself caught between her own ideals and Lina’s more pragmatic and destructive methods. Her dynamic with the chimera sorcerer Zelgadis is particularly notable, as the series hints at a developing romantic affection, with her unwavering belief in justice slowly warming his cynical heart. She also shares a deep, almost comical, bond with her father, Philionel, whose own justice-obsessed antics mirror her own.

Amelia’s character development shows a gradual maturation. While she begins as a somewhat naive girl who cannot always distinguish good from evil and believes that speeches alone can solve problems, her travels with Lina expose her to the world’s complexities. She learns that justice is not always black and white and becomes more pragmatic, even finding loopholes to reconcile her ideals with difficult situations. Although she never abandons her core beliefs, she becomes wiser, more resilient, and a more effective member of the team, taking on greater responsibilities, such as commanding a battalion of magic users in later adventures.

Regarding her notable abilities, Amelia is a highly skilled and versatile magic user. Her specialty is white magic, and she is capable of casting high-level healing spells like Recovery and Resurrection, as well as powerful purification spells such as Megiddo Flare to destroy the undead. She is also proficient in shamanistic magic, allowing her to wield elemental spells like fireballs and lightning. Notably, she can also use some black magic, calling upon the power of demon kings for spells like Garv Flare or Blast Ash, despite the irony of a priestess praying to the very beings she opposes. Her signature combat technique is the Visfarank, which she uses to augment her punches and kicks, making her hand-to-hand combat incredibly effective. While her physical strength and durability are impressive, her lack of agility often leads to her pratfalls, a quirk that defines her as both a courageous heroine and a source of enduring comedy.
