OVA
Description
Tsukushi Tsukamoto is a high school student whose early life was marked by prolonged bullying, leading to extreme timidity and social isolation before entering Seiseki High. He lives with his mother, Nozomi Tsukamoto, who uses a wheelchair and shaped his personality by instilling strong values of consideration for others. His sole pre-high school connection was a childhood friendship with neighbor Sayuri Tachibana. Physically, he stands at 156cm with a slender build, blue eyes, untidy dark hair, and frequently flushed cheeks. Outside soccer, he typically wears simple clothing like T-shirts and shorts.

His personality blends persistent politeness with emotional honesty, often perceived as naivety. Academically average, he demonstrates diligence but struggles with competitiveness, initially feeling uneasy even in healthy team rivalries. Key traits include exceptional perseverance, selflessness in team contributions, and a tendency to overreact to unfamiliar situations. He dislikes crowds, enjoys milk, and cites "orderliness" as his favorite word. A noted trivial skill is perfectly removing pudding from its packaging, and he wears distinctive red polka-dotted boxer shorts.

Soccer involvement began accidentally when talented player Jin Kazama recruited him for a futsal match during a stormy night. Despite lacking experience and athletic gear—initially using Jin's old shoes—Tsukushi's tenacity during that match, including running nearly ten miles through rain and bullies to participate, impressed Jin. This led both to join Seiseki High's soccer club, where Tsukushi faced initial ridicule for clumsiness but gradually earned respect through relentless effort. He plays as a forward, wearing squad number 17 in Seiseki's black or yellow kits.

His skills evolve significantly. Initially possessing only extraordinary stamina for continuous running, he develops high pain tolerance, frequently playing through injuries with rapid recovery. Technical abilities emerge through dedicated practice: ball recovery expertise enables last-second saves via anticipation and diving interceptions; dodging techniques allow him to evade markers by exploiting visual blind spots. These advancements establish him as Seiseki's optimal "pinch runner" and fuel speculation about his potential as the "Fourth Arrow" offensive threat.

Character development centers on growing confidence and self-motivation. Early actions aimed primarily at reducing teammates' burdens, but post-Inter-High Prelims matches—particularly against Saku High—he shifts focus toward personal improvement. His pivotal performance occurs against Ryouzan High School, entering as a substitute to overturn a 0-3 deficit by assisting decisive goals in a 4-3 victory. This highlights his evolving strategic understanding and clutch performance under pressure, cementing his indispensable role despite ongoing technical limitations.

Key relationships define his journey. His bond with Jin Kazama forms instantly upon meeting, marked by mutual loyalty and open affection. Jin's influence motivates Tsukushi's soccer participation, while Tsukushi's perseverance reignites Jin's passion for the sport. Their dynamic includes physical closeness like hugging, and Tsukushi openly admires Jin's demeanor and skill. Within Seiseki, he gradually connects with teammates: Captain Hisahito Mizuki shares parallels as a fellow late-starting player, while second-years like Atsushi Kimishita and Kiichi Ōshiba initially dismiss him but later acknowledge his work ethic's positive impact on team morale. Manager Chikako Ubukata transitions from critic to supporter after witnessing his dedication firsthand.

In the OVA "Days: Tōin Gakuen-sen," Tsukushi participates in Seiseki's Tokyo Preliminary final against reigning champions Touin Academy. This narrative continuation depicts his established skills and team role within this high-stakes match context, contributing to Seiseki's 2-1 victory and qualification for the national tournament.
