TV-Series
Description
Shunji Nagira is a supporting character who appears in the second half of the series. He works as an attorney and runs his own private law office, assisted by two employees. Nagira is the older half-brother of Amon, sharing the same father. He stands apart from the official witch-hunting organization STN-J and holds a critical view of the government's persecution of witches, believing that the authorities are wrong in their approach. This belief motivates him to offer shelter and aid to witches in hiding within the city, and he also provides a safe haven for Robin Sena after she leaves STN-J. While staying with him, Robin works as a bike messenger for his office, a role that keeps her connected to the city's streets.
Nagira's personality is a clear contrast to his brother's cold and serious demeanor. He is talkative, easygoing, occasionally lazy, and tends to follow his own unconventional methods. Despite his relaxed manner, he is dedicated to his own form of investigation. He gathers information through a network of contacts, including a man he frequents at a pachinko bar and a witch living in Wall City, allowing him to stay informed about events that the official hunters may miss.
His role in the story is that of an independent ally and a source of support for Robin when she is no longer under STN-J's protection. He also maintains a complex relationship with Amon. Although they are brothers, their differing philosophies and lifestyles create tension. As Robin's powers grow increasingly unstable, Nagira becomes concerned that she may lose control. Out of this concern, he is the one who asks Amon to hunt her, fearing the potential consequences of her unchecked abilities.
Nagira does not possess any supernatural abilities or combat skills. His strengths lie in his legal knowledge, his street-level intelligence network, and his willingness to operate outside the system to protect those he believes are unfairly targeted. His development is subtle, defined by his consistent moral stance against persecution and his quiet, pragmatic support for both Robin and the witches he assists.
