TV-Series
Description
Hiroshi Nakano, often called Hiro by those close to him, serves as the guitarist for the band Bad Luck and is the steadfast best friend of the band's vocalist, Shuichi Shindou. Born in Hokkaido on August 4th, he is a Leo with B blood type, standing 178 cm tall. His appearance is marked by long, striking hair that is typically colored red in the anime adaptation and brown in the original video animation, paired with grey or blue eyes depending on the source material. He is known for being a very caring, loyal, and reliable individual, consistently trying to support his friends and wanting them to be happy.
Within the group dynamic, Hiroshi acts as the calm and level-headed anchor to Shuichi's impulsive and hyperactive nature. Serving as a voice of reason, he is known for being laid-back, good-natured, and far more patient and wise than his excitable bandmate. Despite his comparatively quiet demeanor, he is not immune to romantic entanglements and eventually develops a serious relationship with Ayaka Usami, who was initially introduced as a potential fiancée for the novelist Yuki Eiri. Hiroshi comes from a family background of high expectations, as he and his older brother Yuuji were reportedly disowned by their parents for pursuing artistic careers—Yuuji in acting and Hiroshi himself in music—rather than following a more traditional professional path such as medicine.
Hiroshi is the original and foundational member of Bad Luck alongside Shuichi, the two friends having known each other since their youth. He is recognized as being extremely smart and a talented musician, specifically skilled with the guitar. Beyond his musical abilities, his primary function within the narrative is as a pillar of emotional support. He serves as the person others turn to for advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a reliable perspective, possessing a cleverness and kindness that allows him to put up with the dramatic situations that often surround his best friend. While not as overtly ambitious as Shuichi, his own motivation lies in the success of their shared musical dream and in being present to offer unwavering support and comic relief amidst the chaos of their professional and personal lives.
