Daniel Kevin Harrison

Description
Daniel Kevin Harrison is an American actor recognized for his voice work in English dubs of anime series, primarily during the early 2000s. He is based in New England and his entry into voice acting occurred somewhat serendipitously. While working on a film set, he repeatedly encountered sound studio owner Joe Digiorgi of Headline Sound in Irvington, New York. Hoping to impress his young sons, Harrison persistently asked Digiorgi for a role in his projects, a pursuit that eventually led to him being cast as the lead character in the anime series Gokudo.

His most prominent voice role is the title character, Gokudo Yuccot Kikansky, in the series Gokudo the Adventurer. The character's distinct voice was famously developed from Harrison's genuine, frustrated reaction to a deli not having a sandwich he wanted during a recording session. His other significant anime credits include Hiroshi Nakano in Gravitation, Don the Repairer in KO Beast, and Seishinjia in Madara. He is also known for playing Muryou Subaru in the series Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars. His work frequently placed him alongside other voice actors of the era, such as Bill Timoney, who directed him in Gokudo, and Bill Rogers, who appeared with him in several series including Gravitation and Shingu.

Harrison's voice acting was done under the direction of Joe Digiorgi at Headline Sound, where he typically recorded his lines solo in a booth over multiple sessions. Beyond anime, his acting career includes appearances in live-action television series such as LA Law, China Beach, and Simon and Simon, as well as films like Clint Eastwood's Bird and the television miniseries The Langoliers.

Harrison was a regular and popular guest at anime conventions, particularly in the New England region. He attended PortConMaine for seven consecutive years and was a guest of honor at Llamacon in 2006, where he was noted for his engaging and candid panel discussions. He has shared that his convention experiences, especially a packed panel for Gravitation, were memorable and highlighted the welcoming nature of fan communities. Harrison has not voiced new anime roles or attended conventions for over a decade, having since retired from another career, though he has expressed a willingness to return to voice acting under the right circumstances.
