Description
Haruki Emishi is a twenty-year-old warrior from the Getbackers series, recognized as a prominent inhabitant of the Infinity Fortress. Standing at 178 centimeters tall and weighing seventy kilograms with O blood type, he is known by the fearsome epithet the Fresh Blood Joker, a name earned because he is said to always meet his enemies with a smile, even laughing as their blood is shed.

Emishi carries the weight of a lost heritage as the last remaining male descendant of the ancient Western Chinese desert kingdom of Loulan who is capable of fighting. This lineage defines much of his combat style and his connection to the world around him. His primary weapon is a unique double whip known as Dragon's Hair. This weapon is woven from the specially treated and braided hair of the women of his tribe, resulting in a tool as strong and pliable as a dragon's whisker. The whip features a single central grip with two long lengths extending from either side, which Emishi wields with exceptional speed and fluidity to perform a variety of attacks including The Spinning Top, Venom Imitation, Sandstorm, and Winds of Destruction.

Further distinguishing his fighting style is a biological trait inherited from his people: the blood of Loulan warriors is highly combustible upon contact with oxygen. This dangerous ability, however, requires a large, arterial flow of blood to be effectively utilized. A warrior of significant potential, it has been noted by his ally Shido Fuyuki that if Emishi strengthens his will, his power could rival that of the Four Kings of Volts.

Emishi's history is deeply intertwined with the power structures of the Infinity Fortress. He was initially a respected follower of Volts, a major group within the fortress. After Volts disbanded, he came under the rule of the young genius MakubeX, who selected him as one of the new Four Kings, valuing his speed and formidable fighting prowess. In this role, he fought against the retrievers when they ventured into the Infinity Fortress.

Despite his bloodthirsty reputation in battle, Emishi demonstrates a more honorable and protective nature. He was raised with a strong sense of respect for women, which manifests as a somewhat overprotective attitude towards them. This complexity is further highlighted by his deep admiration for Shido Fuyuki. Unlike the wandering rumors of a beastly fighter, Emishi was profoundly moved by the image of Shido making his way to Emishis village to deliver food to starving children. This act of kindness forged a strong friendship and deep admiration between the two warriors.

He is known for his fighting techniques but is not portrayed as being particularly intelligent, possessing a more straightforward and good-natured personality that is also marked by a great sense of humor. In combat, he demonstrates techniques such as the Rouran Butouben, or the Dancing Rouran Whip in the Darkness. His role in the story often sees him caught between his loyalty to former allies like MakubeX and his respect for other fighters from the Infinity Fortress, such as when he made a surprise entrance that interrupted a battle between Ban Mido and another enemy. Through his actions and history, Haruki Emishi stands as a character defined by a fierce warrior spirit, a deep sense of loyalty, and a surprising capacity for kindness inherited from his past.
