Description
Momoko Hanasaki is the central protagonist of the Wedding Peach series, including the OVA sequel Wedding Peach DX. She is a second-year student at Sei Hanazono Gakuen Junior High, born on March 3, 1983. She is half-human and half-angel; her human father, Shouichirou, works as a photographer, while her angel mother, Celeste, is the younger sister of the goddess Aphrodite. Momoko was raised by her father after being told that her mother had died, though in truth Celeste returned to the Angel World. Momoko shares her father’s interest in photography and uses that skill as a photographer for her school’s newspaper club.
Her personality is bright, cheerful, and sociable, but she also has a quick temper and a clumsy, naive side that often leads to amusing situations. She can be emotional and sometimes acts like a crybaby, yet she becomes serious and determined when fulfilling her duties as a Love Angel. Her initial romantic crush is on the soccer team captain, Kazuya Yanagiba, which is common among the girls at her school. As the story progresses, her feelings shift toward Yousuke Fuuma, the team’s goalie, and their bond deepens throughout the series. In the manga, the couple eventually marries, and their love is portrayed as powerful enough to help save the world.
