Description
Ken Scott is a young boy who appears in the anime Captain Future as a devoted admirer of the titular hero. He is an orphan without parents, a fact that shapes his deep desire for belonging and purpose.

Initially, Ken's attempts to join the Future Team are rebuffed, as Captain Future is unimpressed by a demonstration of the boy's skills and chooses to leave him behind. Undeterred, Ken demonstrates a determined and courageous nature by sneaking aboard the spaceship Comet as a stowaway on a mission to the planet Megara. By the time the crew discovers his presence, it is too late to turn back, and Captain Future ultimately decides to take the boy under his wing upon learning of his orphan status.

Ken becomes a temporary member of the Future Team, participating in their adventures across the universe. His role in the story is that of a young protégé who looks up to Captain Future and the other members of the crew. When not accompanying the team on a mission, he is left in the care of Joan Landor, a secret agent who works alongside Captain Future. This relationship with Landor is a key part of his support structure during his time with the group.

While Ken is a recurring presence, his character is notably defined by his development from an outsider and wannabe sidekick into an accepted, though temporary, part of the team's inner circle. His perseverance and bravery allow him to prove his worth and find a place among the heroes he so greatly admires. As a young boy in a team of extraordinary individuals, his primary notable abilities are his courage and his determination, which allow him to face the dangers that come with space adventure.
