Description
Isuke Matsukawa manages Mankai Company, a theater group threatened with closure. He wears a shabby green blazer with yellow accents and a red and white polka dot bow tie. His messy dark-brown hair, light stubble, and noticeable eye bags complete his look. He is 28 years old, stands 173 cm tall, and was born on May 3.

Cheerful and prone to joking, Isuke also exhibits a weak or cowardly demeanor, frequently avoiding confrontation and displaying laziness. Despite this, he possesses a strong, genuine belief in Mankai Company's potential and works tirelessly to prevent its demolition. This dedication originates from a promise made to the theater's former director, Yukio Tachibana. Isuke contacted Yukio via letter seeking help to save the company, an action that resulted in Yukio's daughter, Izumi Tachibana, becoming the new director instead.

His pet cockatoo, Kamekichi, is a constant companion, often perched on Isuke's shoulder. Kamekichi provides comedic relief, embarrassing Isuke or flirting with others, yet their relationship reflects mutual affection. Isuke communicates easily with animals, understanding even the theater's prop master, Tetsuro Iwai.

In an alternate universe backstory titled "The Prince of April 1st" or "The Prince of Hanasaki Academy," Isuke is reimagined as a popular high school student considered the school's "prince." Here, he retains Kamekichi and displays a more aloof, sarcastic demeanor. He insults new student Izumi Tachibana by calling her "plain" or a "chopping board girl," leading to a confrontation where she labels him a "mophead," sparking his interest.

Hidden depths include unexpected musical talent. He skillfully plays multiple instruments, including the violin, possesses a strong singing voice, composes music, and collects headphones. These abilities contrast sharply with his disheveled and unreliable image and occasionally surprise characters who view him as incompetent.

He is notoriously poor at cooking, producing food widely regarded as inedible by the theater company. He often shirks responsibilities like household chores and exhibits no shame when relying on others to complete tasks. He enjoys sharing theater-related urban legends.

His commitment to Mankai Company remains unwavering through challenges, driven by his promise to Yukio and a deep-seated love for the theater, despite admitting his own lack of acting skill. He has been involved in acting for approximately eight years prior to the main events and resides in the theater building's attic, which he shares with Kamekichi.
