TV-Series
Description
Fuu Hououji is one of the three central characters known as the Magic Knights, and in the second story arc, she returns to the world of Cephiro as the knight representing the element of wind. She is a fourteen-year-old middle school student, specifically in the eighth grade, with a birth date of December 12. Fuu has distinctive green eyes and short, light brown or yellowish-blonde hair, and she is often depicted wearing glasses. Her family consists of her father, mother, and an older sister named Kuu. On Earth, she attends a school for gifted students, where her favorite subject is mathematics, and she is a member of the kyudo club, the Japanese art of archery. Her hobbies include reading and computer programming, and her ambition is to become a systems engineer.

Fuu is widely recognized as the most intelligent and logical member of the trio, often serving as the strategist and the voice of reason. Her personality is marked by a calm, polite, and graceful demeanor. She is consistently kind and respectful, addressing everyone with honorifics, a habit she maintains even in the face of enemies. Beneath her gentle exterior, however, she possesses a sharp mind and a tendency to be bluntly observant, sometimes stating the obvious in a way that can be humorous. While she is often smiling, she is a natural strategist with strong morals and a deep-seated compassion. This compassion is so central to her character that it becomes the source of her magical power, which is focused more on protection and healing rather than pure offense. Nevertheless, when her friends are threatened, she displays immense determination and a will to fight, capable of harshness and cunning if the situation demands it.

Throughout the first journey to Cephiro, Fuu develops a romantic relationship with a wandering swordsman named Ferio, who later reveals himself to be the younger brother of the former Pillar, Princess Emeraude. This relationship becomes a core part of her motivations and emotional arc in the second series. Upon returning to Tokyo, Fuu is deeply affected by the traumatic events in Cephiro, particularly the revelation that saving the world required killing Princess Emeraude. She carries a heavy burden of guilt and grief, knowing that her actions led to the death of her beloved Ferio's sister. In the privacy of her own home, she cries alone and loses her cheerful demeanor. Her feelings are complicated further by her intense desire to see Ferio again, which is a powerful factor that draws her back to Cephiro when the call comes a second time.

In the second story arc, Fuu's role evolves as she and her friends are summoned back to a crumbling Cephiro now under threat from invading nations. She is no longer a bewildered visitor but a seasoned hero, though one dealing with emotional trauma. Her primary motivation shifts to protecting her friends and the world she has come to love, while also navigating her complicated feelings for Ferio and her guilt over his sister. A key event in this arc is her capture by the nation of Fahren, where she participates in an archery duel against its ruler, Lady Aska. Fuu wins the match, but more importantly, her sincere words about love for one's homeland cause Aska to reconsider her ambitions, turning a former enemy into an ally. Her relationship with Ferio deepens in this arc, as she learns his true identity and he reassures her of his affection, wanting to remember her smiling face despite the tragedy that connects them.

Over the course of the series, Fuu undergoes significant development. She transforms from a polite and observant girl into a powerful and resolute Magic Knight who can confront personal and external demons. Her magical abilities grow substantially, always reflecting her protective and compassionate heart. As a wind magic user, her spells include Iyashi no Kaze, a healing wind that cures physical injuries; Mamori no Kaze, which creates a protective barrier; and Imashime no Kaze, which uses wind to immobilize an opponent without causing harm. For direct offense, she wields Midori no Shippuu, a concentrated gale that can be strong enough to cut an enemy. Beyond her magic, her skill in archery is a defining ability, as demonstrated in her contest with Aska. She also proves to be an adept strategist. Her physical weaponry includes a bow and arrow, and later, a large sword of Escudo that is magically attuned to her, becoming too heavy for anyone else to lift. In her powered-up state as a Magic Knight, she wears a suit of white and gold armor with green accents, including a later form with a feathered skirt-like arrangement, which prioritizes mobility to complement her fighting style.
