Description
Laura's dad, whose name is Forrest Haruna in the English version and Yumetaro Haruna in the original Japanese, is a supporting human character in the anime Hamtaro. He is the father of Laura Haruna and the husband of Marian Haruna. The family, including their dog Brandy and Laura's pet hamster Hamtaro, moves to a new city at the beginning of the series. Forrest works as an assistant editor at a magazine in an office downtown. He is a loving and supportive parent who cares deeply for his daughter Laura and his wife. He maintains a friendly relationship with the Iwata family, who are their neighbors, especially with Conrad Iwata, the father of Laura's friend Kana. Although Forrest and Conrad sometimes engage in friendly competition with each other, their bond remains that of good friends. In the story, Forrest primarily appears in scenes at the Haruna household, interacting with his family during daily life. He takes part in family activities and provides guidance and support for Laura, often helping her work through the various challenges she faces as a young girl. His role is that of a stable, caring parental figure who contributes to the warm family environment that surrounds Laura and Hamtaro. While he does not undergo significant personal development over the course of the series, his consistent presence underscores the importance of family support in Laura's life. Forrest does not have any special abilities; his character is defined by his dependable nature and his role as a working father who balances his job with his family responsibilities.
