Description
Panda, known in Japanese as Panda-kun, is a hamster character in the anime Hamtaro and a regular member of the Ham-Ham group. He is owned by a girl named Mimi, and his name comes from his appearance: his fur is patterned in dark gray, nearly black, and white, with dark patches around his eyes that make him resemble a panda bear. He also has gray eyes.

Within the Ham-Ham group, Panda serves as the builder and carpenter. He is described as sweet and gentle-natured, and he is always willing to lend a paw to help a friend. His defining trait is his practical craftsmanship. Over the course of the series, he builds and repairs many things for the other Ham-Hams, and his skills are frequently called upon whenever the group needs something constructed, fixed, or improvised. One of his most notable accomplishments is designing the Ham-Ham Fun Park; he drew up the plans for the park, showing that his talents extend beyond simple repair work to larger projects and planning.

Panda's motivation is rooted in helpfulness rather than personal ambition. He takes satisfaction in being useful to his friends and in putting his carpentry skills to work for the group's benefit. He is dependable and eager to take on tasks whenever they arise. His loyalty is especially evident in his relationship with his owner, Mimi. When Mimi needs support, Panda is determined to come through for her, at times going out of his way and rallying the other Ham-Hams to help her. This devotion to his owner reflects the caring side of his personality.

His key relationships include his bond with Mimi and his working relationship with the rest of the Ham-Hams, who rely on him for building and repairs. While he is not typically the central figure in the group's adventures, his contributions are important to their success, and his constructions are a recurring part of their activities. Over the course of the series, his role develops mainly through the growing range of projects he takes on, from small repairs to major undertakings like the Fun Park, demonstrating his continued growth as a craftsman and his steadfast willingness to support those around him.
