Description
Hikari Yagami, known as Kari Kamiya in English adaptations, is introduced as the younger sister of Taichi Kamiya. Her background is marked by a unique sensitivity to the Digital World from a very young age. In 1995, while living in Hikarigaoka, she and her brother discovered a Digi-Egg from their father's computer, befriending the creature that hatched from it. This connection culminated in a massive battle between Greymon and a Parrotmon, an event that would later lead to them becoming DigiDestined. A more personal and traumatic incident occurred when her brother encouraged her to play outside despite her being ill; this led to a severe case of pneumonia that nearly took her life.
