Miashei Kune is an eighteen-year-old pilot from the Inglessa Militia and the best friend of Sochie Heim. She is the daughter of Ladderrum Kune, an airplane builder, and learned to fly from him at a young age. Miashei is a bright, sensible, and cheerful young woman who often acts as a voice of reason when Sochie becomes too hot-headed. She is also somewhat of a daddy's girl and takes pride in her father's work. Her skill with machinery leads her to become a pilot for mobile dolls, flying a Kapool and later an Armadillo. She teaches Sochie how to operate aircraft and mobile suits, and although she participates in combat, she tends to excel in support roles rather than front-line fighting. Miashei does not hold the same level of hostility toward the Moonrace as many other Earthlings; she is more level-headed and open-minded. Her relationships are closely tied to Sochie, whom she constantly supports, and to her father. After the war, Miashei helps run an airplane business with her father and a Moonrace boyfriend she met during the defense of the Whales. In manga adaptations, she later studies at a university on the Moon. Her notable abilities include piloting various mobile weapons, mechanical aptitude, and a calm, pragmatic temperament that helps de-escalate tense situations.
