Description
Guizel, also known as General Gaizel, is the primary antagonist of the story, serving as a high-ranking military commander on the planet Ietta who seeks to seize political control. He is a man with a striking and memorable appearance, often characterized by his imposing armor and a mask-like, beautiful face that has drawn comparisons to a Noh mask. His visual design is noted for being one of the more original and effective aspects of the work, lending him a considerable aura of menace. He has gray eyes and short gray hair that reaches his neck.

He is a ruthless and power-hungry individual, driven by a classic ambition for dictatorship and world domination. Guizel is the mastermind behind a plot to convert a revolutionary gravity repulsor, a device originally designed to keep the nation's floating capital city aloft in the planet's Sea of Clouds, into a devastating weapon of mass destruction. His plan is brutal and calculating: to activate the gravity device and wipe out an entire floating city and its population. He intends to use this manufactured crisis as a pretext to take over Ietta's government, establishing himself as a military dictator in the ensuing chaos.

His central role in the story is as the relentless pursuer of the young woman Elysse. It is revealed that when Elysse's father, the lead scientist who developed the gravity device, attempted to sabotage Guizel's weaponization of it, Guizel personally killed him. The scientist locked the weapon's controls with a password keyed to his daughter's DNA sequence, making Elysse the only individual who can activate it. Guizel's primary motivation throughout the narrative is the capture of Elysse to obtain this key, while his ultimate goal remains the weapon's activation and the destruction of the capital city. To achieve this, he proves himself to be a vicious and relentless adversary, showing no hesitation in eliminating anyone who gets in his way or could help Elysse evade him.

In terms of key relationships, Guizel exists as a direct and violent counter to the story's protagonists. He is the murderer of Elysse's father and the central threat to Elysse herself. He comes into direct conflict with Tita, the young captain of the pet-shop hunter ship Cha-Cha Maru, when she rescues Elysse. Guizel then makes it his mission to destroy Tita and her crew to force Elysse's compliance. A notable moment of physical confrontation occurs when Guizel gets the upper hand on Tita, holding her aloft by the throat and shooting her at close range, an act that highlights his physical power and cruelty.

Guizel is portrayed as commanding his own rogue faction of military forces, leading them in a planet-wide chase for Elysse. He is a formidable opponent with combat abilities to match his imposing presence. Beyond his military authority, he is shown to be physically powerful and proficient with firearms. His notable abilities are primarily defined by his tactical leadership of a military fleet, his personal combat skills, and most significantly, his control over the stolen gravity device, which he intends to use not as a tool of creation but as a terrifying engine of destruction. However, the character suffers from a lack of deep development; his motivations are broadly defined as a generic desire for power, and he ultimately serves the role of a classic, menacing villain designed to be defeated rather than a figure with explored psychological depth.
