Description
Zoe Drake, called Tatsuno Malm in Japanese versions, stands as one of three primary protagonists alongside Max Taylor and Rex Owen. Her parents run an animal hospital as veterinarians, while her older sister, Reese Drake, works as a scientist developing dinosaur summoning technology.

Zoe's appearance differs across media. The anime depicts her with pastel pink hair in spiked pigtails held by yellow scrunchies, violet eyes, a black midriff-baring top under an unbuttoned mustard-and-scarlet safari vest, matching shorts, thigh-length black stockings, and lime-and-black sneakers. She wears a lime-green choker, a dinosaur-tooth necklace, wristbands, and sunglasses that function as a camera. Alternate anime outfits include a green swimsuit with pink trim, a pink ninja suit, and festive attire. Arcade and DS game portrayals show her with hot pink hair featuring red tints, a black tank top under a buttoned yellow-and-red vest with longer sleeves, similar shorts, and goggles replacing sunglasses. She keeps the choker but lacks the dinosaur-tooth necklace. Her hair, when down, extends nearly to her waist.

Personality-wise, Zoe is typically caring and cheerful but displays bossiness, especially toward Max and Rex in domestic situations. She maintains a fierce rivalry with Ursula of the Alpha Gang, persistently calling her "old lady," which annoys Ursula regardless of proximity. Zoe demonstrates physical toughness, such as pushing Rex or striking other characters forcefully. Romantic aspects include Rex's crush on her, while her reciprocal feelings remain ambiguous; she initially shows interest only in celebrities but later exhibits irritation when Max and Rex express attraction to Zahrah. In one instance, she tries to convince Max that "a little kiss is nothing" and leans in to kiss him. The arcade and DS game versions emphasize greater independence, maturity in her dialogue, and an older-sister-like concern for Max and Rex, alongside a lively, opinionated nature.

Her story starts when she finds the Grass Stone after a meteor crash, becoming the wielder of Grass-element dinosaurs. She later bonds with Parasaurolophus Paris, who shares her bossy tendencies. As D-Team members, Zoe collaborates with Max and Rex to collect dinosaur cards, opposing the Alpha Gang's attempts to misuse them. Key events involve her assistance in developing summoning gadgets at the D-Lab and participation in dinosaur battles. During the *Mesozoic Meltdown* arc, she bids a heartfelt farewell to Rex when he departs for the future with his parents and the Alpha Gang. The D-Team later allies with former enemies against the Spectral Space Pirates to rescue their kidnapped parents and secure Cosmos Stones. In this conflict, Paris gains spectral armor for enhanced combat.

Outside the anime, Zoe is absent from the manga adaptation, having originated as an anime-exclusive character before appearing in the arcade version. The DS game places her in a non-playable supporting role; the Alpha Gang steals personal items like her toothbrush, and she is taken hostage, requiring rescue by Max and Rex. Trading Card Game (TCG) statistics associate her with multiple cards featuring anime scenes and abilities focused on retrieving "Paris" cards or supporting Grass dinosaurs during battles.

Trivia notes list her age as 12 during *Mesozoic Meltdown*, though she may have been 11 earlier. Only she and Ursula have distinct designs across anime and game media. She ranked 71st in the Official Anime Saimoe Tournament 2009 and 48th in the Dinosaur King Ranker. Her arcade outfit resembles Runo Misaki's from *Bakugan Battle Brawlers*, and her hairstyle compares to Amu Hinamori's in *Shugo Chara!* during transformations.
