OVA
Description
Elise Altmodic is a central figure in the 1994 anime OVA Plastic Little. She is a sixteen-year-old girl with long blonde hair and blue eyes, typically portrayed as being of medium height and possessing a shy, trusting disposition, especially in the face of danger.

Her background is rooted in tragedy and scientific legacy. She is the daughter of Nalderof Altmodic, a brilliant scientist who created a devastating weapon known as the Gravity Destruction Ray. This weapon, built within the gravity belts of the island colony, is capable of triggering powerful seismic shocks and destroying the entire colony. However, the weapon cannot be activated without a specific biological key, which is embedded in Elise herself. The code to unleash the weapon is derived from the last twelve digits of her DNA sequence, decoded using a method known as the BRG process. Because of this, she is hunted relentlessly by a corrupt military faction led by the villainous Lord Guizel, who seeks to acquire the weapon for his own control over the colony. Her father ultimately sacrifices his own life to help her escape from the gravity belt complex where they had been living.

In terms of personality, Elise initially appears very bashful and reserved. This is demonstrated in early interactions following her rescue, such as becoming extremely embarrassed in a bathhouse scene after her rescuer, Tita Mu Koshigaya, accidentally helps her undress. Despite her frightened and timid state, she possesses an inner resolve. Her primary motivation throughout the story is simply to survive and evade her pursuers, having been thrust into a desperate flight with nowhere to turn.

Elise’s primary role in the narrative is that of the deuteragonist, and her fate is directly tied to the central conflict. She is less an active combatant and more a catalyst for the plot, whose very existence holds the key to immense power. Her most significant relationship is with Tita, the young, courageous captain of the trawler Cha-Cha Maru. Tita finds Elise being pursued and makes it her mission to protect the girl, bringing her aboard her ship. Over the course of the story, Elise undergoes a notable development. While she begins as a passive victim reliant on Tita and the crew of the Cha-Cha Maru, she grows to trust them. Her development culminates in a decisive act of independence and moral conviction. Rather than remaining in hiding, she ultimately chooses to return to the colony. Her decision is driven by a desire to honor her father's legacy and continue his work, preventing the weapon from falling into the wrong hands by taking control of its future herself.

Elise does not possess any physical fighting skills or combat abilities. Her power is entirely passive and biological, residing in the unique sequence of her DNA that serves as a living ignition key for a superweapon. This makes her less a warrior and more of a valuable and vulnerable asset who must be protected.
