Hitomi Takami, formally known as Takami Hitomi, is the elder sister and sole guardian of her brother, Takami Akitoshi, following their parents' untimely death. She presents a consistently cold, unapproachable, and dismissive front towards Akitoshi, treating him like a servant and displaying indifference to his personal struggles, including his sexual dreams involving her. A student and member of her school's swimming club, she uses swimming to maintain her physical fitness.

When the shinigami Mina arrives to claim Akitoshi's soul, Hitomi reveals a spark of compassion for him. Learning that conceiving his child is the sole method to prolong his life, she overcomes her initial reluctance and lack of sexual experience, agreeing to become pregnant.
