Description
Arakune is a demon from the realm of Gehenna and a member of its royal family, serving as a secondary character in the narrative. Arakune is biologically male but consistently presents and lives as a woman, referring to herself as one of God's mistakes, a woman trapped in a man's body. She has shoulder-length blonde-red hair and brown eyes.

Arakune is introduced as the cousin and loyal guardian of Kurai, the last Dragon Master of Gehenna. The two are among the few survivors after angels invaded their homeland, and Arakune acts as a supportive older sister figure to Kurai. This relationship, however, is built on a foundation of profound betrayal. Arakune is, in truth, Kurai's older brother. In the past, the King of Gehenna designated Arakune as the decoy heir to the throne and the next Dragon Master, making him the target of assassination attempts to protect the true heir, Kurai. Upon discovering that his entire life had been a ruse to shield his sibling, Arakune was consumed by a sense of betrayal and sadness.

The demon Belial, sensing this turmoil, offered Arakune a path to power and revenge. Arakune accepted, selling her soul to Lucifer through a being known as the Mad Hatter, who sealed a spider demon within her chest. She then killed and assumed the identity of her own female cousin, the original Arakune, and began feeding information to the angel army, leading to the destruction of the Gehenna Empire as an act of revenge against the royal family.

Despite this mission of vengeance, Arakune's motivations are deeply conflicted. While she initially despises Kurai, she finds herself growing genuinely fond of her as they spend time together on Earth searching for the reincarnation of the angel Alexiel. This internal conflict between her sworn duty to destroy her family and her love for her sister defines her role in the story. She serves as both a protector and a potential assassin, a traitor who ultimately chooses sacrifice.

Key relationships drive her development. Her relationship with Kurai is central, evolving from bitter resentment to sincere care and protectiveness. She is also a servant to Lucifer and Belial, bearing a mark on her chest as a symbol of her loyalty. Her actions have significant consequences, including the death of the character Boyz, whom she kills after he discovers her true identity.

Arakune's character arc culminates in a final act of redemption. When Kurai is prepared to sacrifice herself to become the 999th bride of the Demon Lord, Arakune intervenes. She takes Kurai's place as the bride, an arrangement that only requires a virgin, not specifically a woman, and dies in her sister's stead, saving her life at the cost of her own. Regarding her abilities, Arakune has a spider demon sealed within her chest as a result of her contract with the Mad Hatter. She is also skilled in combat and deception, capable of maintaining her false identity for an extended period.
