Oboro Hagakure trains his sons Kakugo and Harara to battle monsters in post-apocalyptic Tokyo, equipping them with Fortified Armor Shells—cyborg exoskeletons forged from deceased warriors' souls. These armors, developed by their grandfather Shiro Hagakure, a former Imperial Japanese Army scientist, empower humanity's defense against monstrous threats. During a confrontation, Harara—corrupted by the Kasumi armor's evil spirit—betrays and kills Oboro. This act propels Harara onto a destructive path against humanity, leaving Kakugo to inherit the duty of stopping his brother. Beyond the manga, Oboro appears as a playable character in the 1997 PlayStation fighting game adaptation. His gameplay includes a faster "blue bar" fill rate that, when maximized, triggers a horizontal launch and grounded state for opponents, enabling extended combos. Players unlock an alternate character skin by pressing "Down" at the selection screen. Oboro's legacy encompasses his mentorship, the armor technology's creation, and his tragic demise at his corrupted son's hands—a conflict driving the battle between his heirs.
