Angelo Nicotra was an influential Italian voice actor and dubbing director, best known for providing the Italian voices for numerous animated and live-action characters over a career that spanned seven decades. Born in Rome on April 10, 1948, he began his career as a child actor in 1952 before becoming one of Italy's most prolific and recognizable voices in dubbing. He passed away on March 8, 2024, in Rome at the age of 75.
Nicotra's extensive voice work in anime includes a wide variety of significant roles. In the original video animation Apocalypse Zero, he voiced the character Oboro Hagakure. He took on the role of Genzo Seno in the 2014 historical anime film Giovanni's Island. His film work also includes providing the voice of Ivanov in the acclaimed short film Magnetic Rose, which is part of the Memories anthology. In the mecha genre, he was the voice of Benkei Kuruma in the popular original video animation series Getter Robo: Armageddon.

He was the voice of Makarov Dreyar in Fairy Tail, Vincent in Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, Gin in Tokyo Godfathers, and Quent Yaiden in Wolf's Rain. He was equally famous for his animated roles outside of anime, including Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise, Gonzo from The Muppets, and Dr. Zoidberg in Futurama.
