Description
Pisuke, whose full name is Peasuke Soramame, is a recurring supporting character in the anime Dr. Slump & Arale-chan. He lives in Penguin Village with his family, the Soramames, who run the local barbershop called Barber Soramame. He is the younger brother of Taro Soramame and a classmate and close friend of Arale Norimaki and Akane Kimidori. At the beginning of the series he is around thirteen years old, but he is short and stout, with a round and youthful appearance that makes him look much younger than his age. His most recognizable feature is the animal hat he always wears, which has long, upright, ear-like extensions similar to a rabbit's ears, pale in color with red inner lining. His usual outfit consists of a green short-sleeved shirt, matching overalls, and a yellow bib-like panel across the chest.

Peasuke is an insecure boy who is very sensitive about his height because he looks like a small child. The childish hat he always keeps on adds to this problem and becomes a regular source of teasing, particularly from his older brother, Taro, who feels the hat cramps his style. His main motivation is to grow up and become like Taro, whom he admires and hopes to emulate. He is an earnest and enthusiastic participant in the everyday school life and village mischief that surrounds Arale and Akane, and one of his notable habits is asking people for autographs whenever he meets someone he considers interesting or important.

In the story, Peasuke functions as part of the core group of children in Penguin Village, appearing regularly in classroom scenes and in the absurd adventures that unfold around Arale. His relationship with Taro is central to his character: Taro is a fifteen-year-old who tries to present himself as a tough and cool delinquent, and he frequently criticizes his younger brother's immature ways, while Peasuke continues to look up to him. With Arale and Akane, he is a loyal classmate who joins in their games, schemes, and misadventures, often reacting to the chaos around him with the earnestness of a normal boy caught up in extraordinary situations.

Peasuke develops a romantic interest in a younger but taller girl named Hiyoko, a situation that plays directly on his insecurity about his size, since the girl he likes towers over him. The relationship persists despite this, and a glimpse of the future shown in the series depicts Peasuke as an adult who has married Hiyoko and has a son named Poosuke, while still maintaining his short stature. This future vision indicates that his development is tied less to physical change and more to his steady, loyal personality, which leads him to the settled family life he hoped for.

Peasuke does not possess any superhuman powers or combat abilities, setting him apart from robot characters such as Arale. His defining traits are his ordinary humanity, his persistent desire to be seen as older and taller, his habit of collecting autographs, and his unwavering admiration for his older brother. Over the course of the series, his growth is modest but consistent: he starts as a self-conscious child sensitive about his appearance and matures into a married adult, still short but content within the same close-knit community.
