Description
Millerna Sara Aston is the third princess of the kingdom of Asturia in the world of Gaea. She is the youngest daughter of King Grava Aston and Queen Therese Aston, with two older sisters: the deceased Marlene and the politically minded Eries. Millerna is betrothed to Dryden Fassa, the son of a wealthy merchant, but she harbors strong romantic feelings for the knight Allen Schezar, who does not return her affection in the same way.
Bright and capable, Millerna once aspired to become a doctor and had already gained considerable medical skill by the age of fifteen. However, her sister Eries forced her to abandon her medical studies. Despite her royal status, Millerna possesses a strong will and a desire for independence. She is generally polite and well mannered, but she can act spoiled or jealousy, particularly when it comes to Allen’s attention. She initially feels jealous of Hitomi Kanzaki for the attention Allen gives her, though the two later become close friends.
Millerna plays a supporting role in the story, joining Van’s group after running away from Asturia to follow her own convictions. She opposes the Zaibach Empire when she sees the wrongs being committed by her kingdom’s alliance with them. She provides medical assistance to the party and is a source of emotional support, particularly for Hitomi. Millerna also discovers the secret of Allen’s son, Prince Chid.
Her character develops significantly over the series. Initially defined by her unrequited love for Allen and her resentment of her arranged engagement, she gradually comes to appreciate Dryden’s genuine kindness and good qualities.
