Description
Patti, known as Patty in several international versions of Captain Tsubasa and Sanae Nakazawa in the original Japanese, is a recurring character closely tied to the Nankatsu football teams. Some localised versions give her the full name Patricia Gadsby. She grows up in Nankatsu in the Shizuoka region, where she is part of the local football scene from childhood. During her elementary school years she serves as the leader of the Nankatsu Elementary cheering squad, an energetic and assertive girl known among her friends as anego, meaning big sister or boss lady, who supports the team together with three close companions. Her birthday is April 11 and her blood type is A.
At the beginning she is a loud, hot-tempered, somewhat tomboyish supporter who does not particularly take to the team's new captain, Tsubasa, but over time her feelings change and she falls deeply in love with him. Her motivation gradually shifts from pure enthusiasm for the team to a personal devotion to Tsubasa and a wish to remain close to him as he pursues his football career.
