Description
Patty, known in the original Japanese version as Sanae Nakazawa and in some European versions as Patricia Gatsby, is a central female character in Captain Tsubasa. She grows up in Nankatsu in the Shizuoka region, where she first encounters the boy who becomes the team's captain during their elementary school years.
In her early appearances she is a lively, outspoken, and somewhat tomboyish girl who serves as the leader of the Nankatsu elementary school cheering squad. Because of her energetic and assertive manner, she earns the nickname Anego, meaning big sister. She cheers loudly for the local team together with a small group of friends and establishes herself as the team's most devoted supporter. When the characters move on to junior high school, she becomes the manager of the Nankatsu soccer club, a role she continues into high school.
Her personality evolves noticeably over the course of the story. As a young girl she is hot-tempered, boisterous, and fiercely protective of her team, often shouting encouragement from the stands.
