Description
Lars Ul Metallicanna is the prince of the kingdom of Metallicanna and the son of its king, as well as the older brother of Sheila Tuel Metallicanna. Before the events of the main story, he was renowned as the kingdom's greatest warrior, capable of single-handedly slaying armies of thousands. Fifteen years prior to the narrative, Dark Schneider had nearly conquered the world, needing only a few more kingdoms to achieve total dominion. Lars fought Dark Schneider in a battle that lasted several days. Realizing he was losing and with no other option, he summoned the Dragon Knight, a colossal mechanical robot over five hundred meters tall originally created by the Twelve Wise Men of Europa. This armor absorbed and multiplied the spiritual energy of its user, enabling Lars to kill Dark Schneider. However, the Dragon Knight was cursed because it had been designed for use against the god of destruction Anthrasax, not against Dark Schneider, who was intended to be its ultimate wielder. As a result of the curse, Lars was transformed into a baby dragon. After Dark Schneider's death, Lars was believed to have gone missing or perished, as no one knew what truly happened.
In his baby dragon form, Lars spent his time searching for a worthy successor to take up the Dragon Knight. He was eventually found by Gara, the ninja master and one of the Four Lords of Havoc, who kept him as a pet. Despite their past enmity, Lars began to accompany Dark Schneider after the magician's resurrection, able to speak and communicate only with Dark Schneider. He follows Dark Schneider closely, fully aware that they were once deadly enemies, suggesting a deep and unresolved history between them. Lars is described as brave and fearless, and his motivations have shifted from defending his kingdom and defeating a world-conquering threat to observing Dark Schneider and seeking a new wielder for the Dragon Knight. His notable ability as a human was his immense combat prowess and his capacity to summon and control the Dragon Knight, while as a baby dragon he retains the unique ability to converse solely with Dark Schneider. Though he no longer possesses his original human form in the anime adaptations, his presence as a baby dragon is consistently shown alongside Dark Schneider.
