Garry Michaels is the professional alias of Gary Michael Dubin, an American actor and voice actor born on May 5, 1959, in Los Angeles, California. He worked extensively in English-language dubbing for Japanese anime from the 1990s into the early 2000s, often credited under the name Garry Michaels or Gary Michaels. His career in front of the camera began as a child actor in the late 1960s, with notable roles including Punky Lazaar on The Partridge Family and Eddie Marchand in Jaws 2, before he transitioned into voice work for animated series and video games. Dubin passed away on October 8, 2016, following a battle with bone cancer.

As a voice actor, Dubin became known for his work on numerous anime titles released in North America during the 1990s. One of his prominent roles was Lars Ul Metallicanna in the dark fantasy series Bastard!! He performed this role under the name Gary Michaels in the English version of the series. His other major anime voice credits include Bat in Fist of the North Star, George in Cowboy Bebop, Ivan the Terrible in Giant Robo: The Animation - The Day the Earth Stood Still, and Aptom as well as Oswald A. Lisker in The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor. He also voiced Matsui in Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: Lovers Again, Arth in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team, and provided additional voices for series such as The Big O and Battle Athletes Victory. Beyond television and film, he voiced the character Rootrick in the video game Brave Fencer Musashi.

Throughout his anime dubbing career, Dubin frequently collaborated with studios such as Animaze and Manga Entertainment. His ability to voice a wide range of characters demonstrated his adaptability as a performer, and his contributions helped bring many popular anime series to English-speaking audiences during the formative years of the North American anime market.
