Description
Carrot Glace is the primary protagonist and de facto leader of the Sorcerer Hunters. He is a young man of about 17 years with black hair and brown eyes, whose primary weapon is a longsword that he almost never uses effectively due to extreme imprecision in his swordsmanship. In terms of conventional combat skills and magical ability, Carrot is generally the weakest member of his own team.

What makes Carrot a formidable force is not his swordplay but his unique innate abilities. He possesses two special powers known as Aranju, which allows him to absorb magic, and Zoanthropy, which triggers a physical transformation in response to contact with a sorcerer's magic. When struck by magical energy, one of his twelve beast genes activates and transforms him into a giant, uncontrollable monster. These monstrous forms are based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac, and he has been known to transform twice during a single fight. Later revelations explain that this power stems from his nature as the reincarnation of Hakaishin, the God of Destruction. The process of returning him to his human form differs between adaptations. In the animated series, Tira Misu must subdue him with her whip to bring him back to normal. In the manga, Tira wears down the monster form while his brother Marron extracts the absorbed magic from Carrot's body.

Carrot's personality is defined by an extreme and comically exaggerated libido. He propositions nearly every woman he encounters for either a date or sexual relations, a behavior that consistently lands him in trouble. There are, however, two notable exceptions to his relentless pursuit of women: Tira and Chocola Misu. Carrot grew up alongside the Misu sisters and regards them with a purely brotherly affection, feeling uneasy at the notion of a romantic relationship with either of them. He does not view his pursuit of other women as unfaithful precisely because he does not consider his bond with the sisters to be romantic. This rationale does nothing to appease Tira and Chocola, both of whom harbor deep romantic feelings for him and perceive his behavior as infidelity. As a result, Carrot is frequently subjected to whippings and other punishments at their hands, which has also left him genuinely afraid of both sisters. Despite his lecherous nature, Carrot does display a form of chivalry; he immediately ceases his advances upon learning that a woman already has a boyfriend. He also has a good heart and demonstrates genuine care for his friends and family beneath his outwardly perverse behavior.

Carrot's background is closely tied to his companions. He was raised on Mount Saint Hordic alongside his younger brother Marron and the adopted Misu sisters. His father, Onion Glace, was himself a former Sorcerer Hunter known for rescuing maidens in the hopes of dating them afterward, a trait Carrot clearly inherited. During childhood, Carrot often protected his brother Marron from bullies who targeted the boy for his feminine appearance, forging a strong fraternal bond that endures throughout the series with Marron fiercely defending Carrot in return.

Over the course of the story, Carrot undergoes significant development. While he consistently rejects the romantic affections of the Misu sisters early on, hints of a hidden attachment emerge, such as moments of dejection when the sisters are absent. The manga provides a more complete arc, wherein Carrot eventually professes his love to both Tira and Chocola. He ultimately marries Tira by the end of the manga series. Even after this marriage, Chocola remains determined to bear Carrot's first child, a testament to the complex and lasting nature of their relationships. His development also includes coming to terms with his identity as the reincarnation of a destructive god and learning how this affects his friends and his role as a Hunter.
