Description
Diamante is a major antagonist from the Dressrosa arc, serving as one of the three top officers of the Donquixote Pirates. He holds the prestigious Diamond seat within the family and commands his own fighting unit, the Diamante Army. Before the fall of the Donquixote regime, he was also the proprietor of the Corrida Colosseum, where he was celebrated under the epithet "Hero of the Colosseum".

Diamante's origins trace back to the North Blue, where he had a poor childhood and dreamed of becoming a champion. At the age of fourteen, he met a young Donquixote Doflamingo on the island of Downs alongside Trebol, Vergo, and Pica. Impressed by Doflamingo's display of Haoshoku Haki, the group pledged their absolute loyalty to him, treating him like royalty and becoming the founding members of his crew. This devotion was extreme; for instance, they once burned down an entire town simply because its poor pavement caused Doflamingo to trip.

In terms of personality, Diamante is a complex figure defined by arrogance, a flair for the dramatic, and profound cruelty. He takes immense pride in his title as the "Hero of the Colosseum" and boasts about surpassing the legendary gladiator Kyros in fame and skill. He possesses a peculiar verbal tic regarding compliments: he initially denies praise but will readily accept it if the compliment is retracted. Despite his theatrical pride, he has a deeply sadistic and callous nature. He shows a blatant lack of empathy for others, cruelly mocks his opponents' suffering, and does not hesitate to use underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand in a fight. He is, however, fiercely loyal to his crew, viewing them as family, and becomes enraged when anyone mocks or harms Doflamingo.

Diamante's role in the story is central to the Donquixote family's oppressive rule over Dressrosa. Ten years prior to the main events, he participated in the invasion of the kingdom and personally shot and killed Scarlet, the wife of the legendary gladiator Kyros and mother of Rebecca. During the Dressrosa arc, Doflamingo entrusts him with the Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit) as bait to lure Monkey D. Luffy into the Corrida Colosseum. Diamante oversees the tournament finals, where he attempts to secure the fruit, taunts and batters Rebecca, and confronts Sabo, the Revolutionary Army chief of staff, who shatters his sword.

Key relationships define his actions. His unwavering loyalty to Doflamingo is his primary motivation, having served him for over thirty years. He is a senior and respected comrade to fellow top officers Trebol and Pica, though he has shown irritation at Trebol's failures and has been insulted by Pica in turn. He taught swordsmanship to a young Trafalgar Law during Law's brief time in the family. However, his most significant relationship is that of a nemesis to Kyros and Rebecca. He murdered Kyros's wife and tormented Rebecca for years, leading to a final, cathartic battle where Kyros avenges his family by defeating Diamante with his "Thunder Destruction Sword".

Diamante is a Devil Fruit user who ate the Hira Hira no Mi, also known as the Ripple-Ripple Fruit, a Paramecia-type fruit that allows him to make any object he touches, including his own body, become as flat and pliable as cloth or a flag, while still retaining its original properties like hardness or sharpness. He demonstrates incredible creativity with this seemingly simple power. He wears a cape made of steel that is as light as cloth but as hard as metal, providing a formidable defense. In combat, he uses his abilities to transform his rapier into various forms, such as a flexible, snake-like blade called "Vipera Glaive" or a rigid, bull-headed lance named "Corrida Glaive" for powerful thrusts. He can also turn the ground into rippling waves to unbalance opponents using "Army Bandera" and unleash "Death Star Dust," where he launches confetti that reverts into a deadly rain of spiked iron balls. Despite his heavy reliance on his Devil Fruit, he also possesses enough swordsmanship skill to perform "Half-Moon Funeral," a powerful sword slash that cleaves the earth. Following Doflamingo's defeat, a defeated and unconscious Diamante was arrested by the Marines alongside the other family executives.
