Description
Bentham, known by the alias Mister Two or Bon Clay, is a former officer agent of the criminal organization Baroque Works. His true name is Bentham, and he is an okama, a person who challenges conventional gender norms, which is reflected in his flamboyant dress, makeup, and theatrical mannerisms. He first appears during the Arabasta arc as an antagonist serving under Crocodile, but his role transforms significantly over the course of the story.

His personality is vibrant, dramatic, and expressive, often breaking into song and dance. Beneath this exterior, he is deeply loyal, altruistic, and places a high value on genuine friendship. Unlike many of his fellow Baroque Works agents, he does not operate out of pure self-interest or cruelty. Instead, his motivations shift from serving his organization to protecting those he considers true friends, particularly Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. His defining drive is the belief that friendship and loyalty are worth sacrificing one's own freedom or safety.

Mister Two plays a crucial part in the Arabasta arc, initially as an enemy who battles Sanji in a memorable confrontation. After losing, he develops a mutual respect for the Straw Hats and later helps them escape the Marines by disguising himself and leading their pursuers away, an act that leads to his imprisonment in Impel Down. His most prominent role comes during the Impel Down arc, where he is freed and immediately aids Luffy in his quest to rescue Portgas D. Ace. Despite his earlier fear of the prison warden Magellan, he overcomes his cowardice and risks his life multiple times to help Luffy. His ultimate sacrifice occurs at the end of the arc, when he disguises himself as the prison's deputy warden to open the Gates of Justice, allowing Luffy and the escaping inmates to flee. He remains behind and is believed to have perished, but later it is revealed he survived and became the new queen of Newkama Land, the secret level of Impel Down inhabited by okama.

His key relationships include a deep and unwavering friendship with Luffy, built on mutual trust and gratitude. He also shares a notable rivalry with Sanji, who fights him during Arabasta, but this does not prevent him from aiding the crew. He has a cordial if distant relationship with his former Baroque Works colleagues and a close bond with Emporio Ivankov, another okama leader, whose role he eventually inherits.

In terms of character development, Mister Two evolves from a flamboyant but calculating agent into a selfless hero whose actions embody the series' themes of friendship and sacrifice. His journey is not one of redemption from evil but rather the revelation of his true, kind-hearted nature as he prioritizes his bonds over his former allegiances.

His notable abilities stem from the Mane Mane no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to perfectly copy the appearance, voice, and even the signature of any person whose face he has touched with his right hand. He can switch back by touching his own face with his left hand. This power makes him an exceptional spy and infiltrator. In combat, he uses a unique fighting style called Okama Kenpo, which blends ballet-like movements with powerful kicks and acrobatics, granting him agility and unpredictability. He also employs swan-themed attacks. Despite not being among the physically strongest characters, his tactical use of his Devil Fruit and his unwavering determination make him a formidable ally and a memorable figure in the story.
