Description
Master Nekomamushi is a feline mink and one of the two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom on the elephant-shaped island of Zou. He is known as the Ruler of Night, governing the dukedom from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, while his counterpart Inuarashi rules during the day. Nekomamushi is a large, yellow cat-like mink with dark brown stripes, sharp teeth, claws, and a thick striped tail. He has wild, bushy blonde hair that resembles a lion's mane around his neck and back, and a scar runs from the left side of his forehead down to his cheek.

Nekomamushi's personality is bold, aggressive, and merciless, especially compared to Inuarashi. He is described as obstinate and stubborn, and he dislikes being ordered around, considering himself a freedom-loving man. Despite his fierce demeanor, he has a welcoming side, having taken care of Bepo and the other Heart Pirates when they arrived on Zou. He is also afraid of needles and, like a cat, enjoys licking his paws, playing with toys, and eating catnip, but unlike most cats, he loves taking baths. His favorite food is lasagna.

Nekomamushi's deep loyalty stems from his childhood. As a child in Wano Country, he was nearly burned to death but was saved by Kozuki Oden. He and Inuarashi, who were childhood friends, became Oden's retainers and pledged unwavering loyalty to him. They secretly stowed away on the ships of the Whitebeard Pirates and later the Roger Pirates, accompanying Oden on his adventures. After Oden's execution by Kurozumi Orochi and Kaido, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi returned to Zou, but their relationship fractured due to their grief and differing views on Oden's death. They ruled in shifts, avoiding each other, until Kozuki Momonosuke, Oden's son, eventually reconciled them.

Nekomamushi's primary motivation is to avenge Oden and fulfill his wish to open Wano's borders. He is committed to protecting Zou and the Kozuki clan's legacy. His role in the story is pivotal during the Zou and Wano Country arcs. He forms the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates and the Heart Pirates to defeat Kaido. He also leads the Musketeers to recruit Marco the Phoenix for support. During the Raid on Onigashima, Nekomamushi fights alongside the Nine Red Scabbards, attacking Kaido and later defeating Perospero using his Sulong form.

Key relationships include his bond with Oden, his rivalry and eventual reconciliation with Inuarashi, and his alliances with the Straw Hats and Heart Pirates. He is also a retainer of the Kozuki family and a member of the Akazaya Nine.

Nekomamushi's abilities are formidable. As a mink, he possesses immense physical strength, speed, and the ability to generate Electro, which he uses in combat. He wields a three-pronged spear with blades on both sides. He has mastered both Armament Haki, known as Ryou in Wano, and Observation Haki. His most powerful transformation is the Sulong form, activated during a full moon, which drastically enhances his size, speed, and strength, turning his hair white and his eyes red. In this form, he uses techniques like Red Cat Dance and Oden One-Sword Style: Cat's Laughing Clash. Overuse of Sulong leads to severe fatigue. Nekomamushi also lost his left arm during a battle with Jack, but this did not diminish his combat effectiveness.

Throughout the story, Nekomamushi develops from a grief-stricken, isolated ruler to a cooperative ally who reconciles with Inuarashi and fights alongside the alliance. He proves his resilience and dedication to Oden's cause, ultimately playing a crucial role in the battle against Kaido and the liberation of Wano.
